{"id":2037,"date":"2015-11-01T17:17:48","date_gmt":"2015-11-01T21:17:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2037"},"modified":"2015-11-01T17:23:48","modified_gmt":"2015-11-01T21:23:48","slug":"our-compelling-ministry-as-a-follower-of-jesus-christ","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2037","title":{"rendered":"Our Compelling Ministry as a Follower of Jesus Christ"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Message by Gary Jarnagin<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/rec1101-112811.mp3\">rec1101-112811<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><u>Our Compelling Ministry as a Follower of Jesus Christ<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>The Greatest Commandment<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Matthew 22:34-40 (NIV)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?&#8221; <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus replied: <span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;&#8216;Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.&#8217;<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">This is the first and greatest commandment.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And the second is like it: &#8216;Love your neighbor as yourself.&#8217;<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">40 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.&#8221;<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NIV)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Love the Lord with all your\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>heart<\/strong><\/span><strong>,<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>soul<\/strong><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>mind (&amp; strength)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Love your\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>neighbor<\/strong><\/span> as yourself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>The Great Commission <\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Jesus came to them and said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Go<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">make<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">disciples<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">baptize<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">teach<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>The initial imperative (command) is to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>GO<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Our Great Ministry<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NIV)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men&#8217;s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0We are therefore Christ&#8217;s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
