Are you praising God today for your salvation?<\/h3>\n
\n<\/strong>3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
\n4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you,
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. <\/span><\/p>\nI.\u00a0 The gift of God is salvation!<\/u> (v. 3 \u201d\u201c 5)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\n<\/strong>18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old–and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
\n21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
\n22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
\n23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone,
\n24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness–for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
\n25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
\n
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 c. God has given us an INHERITANCE<\/u><\/em>.<\/strong>
\n
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 d. God\u201d\u2122s power is PROTECTING<\/u><\/em> our salvation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.<\/span>
\n29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.<\/span>
\n30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I and the Father are one.”<\/span><\/p>\nII.\u00a0 Our faith in God will be tested!<\/u> (v. 6 \u201d\u201c 7)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a. We should GREATLY<\/u><\/em> REJOICE<\/u><\/em> because of our TRIALS<\/u><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,”<\/span> said Jesus, “but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.<\/span>
\n
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 b. Our faith is tested to determine if it is GENUINE<\/u><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring–not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed–the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

\nIII.\u00a0 The goal of our faith is SALVATION<\/u><\/em>. (v. 8 \u201d\u201c 9)<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a. We have not SEEN<\/u><\/em> Him: But we LOVE<\/u><\/em> Him.<\/strong>

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 b. Because we BELIEVE<\/u><\/em> in Him: We rejoice with <\/strong>JOY INEXPRESSIBLE.<\/strong> <\/u><\/em>

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 c. The goal of our faith is THE SALVATION<\/u><\/em> of our SOULS.<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–<\/p>\n
