TRUE CONFESSION OF SIN WILL BE USED OF GOD TO HUMBLE US<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">II. TRUE CONFESSION OF SIN EXPOSES WHAT WE HAVE DONE AND WHO WE ARE<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nehemiah 9:2 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. Confession of sin is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">personal<\/span> act.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2. Confession of sin is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">penitent<\/span> act. (Ref. Psalm 51)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>3. Confession of sin could be a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">public<\/span> act.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>James 5:16 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">III. TRUE CONFESSION OF SIN SHOULD BE A PART OF OUR TOTAL WORSHIP OF GOD<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nehemiah 9:3 (NASB) <\/strong><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0While they stood in their place, they read from the book of the law of the LORD their God for a fourth of the day; and for <i>another<\/i> fourth they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. The Bible shows us how the purity of God shadows the sinfulness of man.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Isaiah 6:1-7 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0In the year of King Uzziah&#8217;s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And one called out to another and said, <span class=\"poetry1\">&#8220;Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">The whole earth is full of His glory.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"noindent\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then I said, <span class=\"poetry1\">&#8220;Woe is me, for I am ruined! <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">Because I am a man of unclean lips, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">And I live among a people of unclean lips; <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He touched my mouth <i>with it<\/i> and said, &#8220;Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.&#8221; <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2.
